              Touchline ban for Wenger

 Arsene Wenger has been handed a three-match touchline ban and a £40,000 fine following a misconduct charge from the FA over comments he made about the refereeing of the game against West Brom.

In a separate case, Wenger has also been asked by the governing body to provide his observations on what he said about penalty decisions which went against the Gunners in both their matches over the festive period.

A statement from the FA read: "Arsene Wenger will serve a touchline ban for Arsenal's next three matches after he was charged with misconduct.

"It follows an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today at which the Arsenal manager admitted that his language and behaviour in the match officials' changing room after the West Brom game on Sunday was abusive, improper and questioned the integrity of the match referee. He was also fined £40,000."

       Keown's bold Ozil and Sanchez claim

Martin Keown believes Jack Wilshere is on a similar level to Arsenal team-mates Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Wilshere has managed to get a run in the Arsenal first team and has looked impressive in the heart of midfield.

However, with Sanchez and Ozil’s futures both up in the air, there has been a dank mood pervading the Emirates.

“Jack [Wilshere] proved against Chelsea on Wednesday that he is well and truly back, and a force to be reckoned with,” Keown told the Daily Mail.

"He is a superstar approaching the levels of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil but, crucially, he wants to play for Arsenal.”

                        Mahrez claim

Manchester United should sign Riyad Mahrez to bring in some much-needed creativity, says pundit Shaka Hislop, but Arsenal are also in the running.

Mahrez is reportedly keen on leaving Leicester this month after a fine start to the season for the Foxes.

“I’m going to say it’s going to be a good destination,” the former West Ham goalkeeper said. "You’re not going to get me to say whether it’s a better destination.

“I think this makes perfect sense again. I like Mahrez, I think Manchester United would need his creativity. I also think that they would need and could do with this dynamism coming out of midfield. That is a big hit for me again.”

     Wenger responds to Aubameyang links

 Arsene Wenger has responded to rumours linking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a move to Arsenal.

Wenger is expected to dip into the market to bolster his attacking ranks.

And he has been heavily linked with want-away Borussia Dortmund striker Aubameyang.

But he has now ruled out any chance of him making a move for the Gabon international claiming it would not be possible to take him to north London.

“No, it’s not a possibility,” he told reporters this morning.
